I am a 42 year old nurse with 10+ years experience and 8 years experience in the Operating Room. I have been a Traveling Nurse for a year and have enjoyed the experience and freedom to go to different locations. I have been married for 12 years and have 2 dogs. Throughout my experience as a circulating RN it has been challenging in many ways but I understand the flow of the Operating Room. This includes, organizing the flow of the schedule for the day and assigned rooms, assisting with turnover before and after cases, and prioritizing emergent cases and their needs.
My experience has included being an assistant instructor at a peri-op program for registered nurses, being the OR charge nurse at every place worked, traveler or not and also understand that sometimes there are some sacrifices that need to be made to get the job done as well (within reason).
